Enthusisium Counts!!

  Be enthusiastic while writing your essay.  If you are psyched about your writing, the reader will be captivated by your positivity.  Even if the topic bores you, try to put a good spin on your subject.  Example: Seward’s Folly was the 1867 purchase of Alaska for $7 million.  While true, this sentence is boring and illustrates that you are writing an essay that is simply an assignment.  On the other hand: One of the most profound purchases in American history was incorrectly deemed Seward’s Folly in the 1867 purchase of Alaska from Russia for only $7 million!  This revised sentence shows that you are wowed by the acquisition of Alaska, which greatly expanded the land area of United States.
