READ: A Sure Way To Improve Writing

Want to improve your writing?  READ!  It may sound like an unusual answer, but reading can help you be a better writer.  Why?  Here are some excellent reasons:

1.     Reading can help you understand the structure of writing.  When you read the       writing of others, you develop a grasp of how words are used.

2.     You can develop your own style of writing by seeing what’s out there.  Read anything that appeals to you from Shakespeare to graphic comics to find YOUR comfort zone of writing.

3.     When reading, your knowledge is always expanded in some way.  Incorporating your new knowledge into your own writing creates more interest for the reader.
