Writing Scoop: Visuals + Writing = Education

Guy Davenport was an author, painter, illustrator, teacher, thinker and as such pursued many more philosophical and artistic endeavors.  Each day he wrote and produced art: a painting, drawing or illustration.  In this way Davenport incorporated the visual into his writing.  Even if the art was not specifically related to the writing, the creativity involved with generating each of these activities enriched the other directly and/or in a round about way.

Using visuals in teaching/education forges a powerful concept for the learner and the educator.  The combination of the two will impact the student in the ability to recall concepts from the visual well of memory.
