Writing Scoop: Bells

Today in 1487 chime bells, an instrument of music & announcement, were invented. Bells can delight, inform, call-to-order, create awareness.  In teaching and learning awareness is critical.  The teacher must be aware of what is presented to the students and children must be aware of that which is presented to them.  Sometimes, an educator becomes more aware of the material(s) being provided to the class than what the children are perceiving.

A child's mind absorbs almost everything around it. Even if children show no evidence of having funneled information into their minds, it is there. Make that which is provided counts for the lesson and for your students' future.  And be sure that you acknowledge the children first rather than the lesson, for it is they who receive the knowledge as it is provided.
