Writing Scoop: Knowledge v Creativity
When asked which was more important, knowledge or creativity, Albert Einstein replied "Creativity." For without creativity, your knowledge may not take you to the next step.
Knowledge is important. It is essential to know about the world. It is often said that understanding/knowing the past assists us in the present and is the key to the future. This has proven true throughout the ages. However, those who are creative, such as Albert Einstein, augment our lives in the present as well as change the course of the future.
As for those of us who are not "Einsteins," myself included, try to add some creativity into your life: especially during these times. You will be surprised at how much creativity will add to your life!
Here are a few simple creative ideas:
1. Add a small amount of a spice you don't usually use to one portion of a recipe (If you don't like the flavor, you won't have ruined the "pot").
2. Sketch a cloud.
3. Paint a rainbow with food coloring on your window (No food coloring, tape up a cut-out rainbow instead.).
4. Make a family photo collage.
5. Write a free verse poem/song.
