Leadership comes in many forms & leaders. Harvey Samuel Firestone (1868-1938) was one such leader to be admired. An American businessperson, Firestone founded the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. Under Firestone's leadership, the company was one of the first global mass producers of auto tires.
Prior to founding his own company, Firestone had a job at the Columbus Buggy Company, where the idea for better tires became Firestone's dream. In 1890, Firestone went out on his own to produce improved tires for carriages. 1900 was the year he established the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company to cater to the "new" auto industry. Firestone was a forerunner in visualizing the enormous potential for the mass production of auto tires and Firestone became a household name.
